Word of the Year 2021: Blessed
Do you consider yourself blessed? Until this year, I had never really thought about that question. God has filled my life with so many blessings and I often forget to thank Him for the little things. I bet He has given you many blessings as well. I hope you will join me this year in reflecting on all the blessings in your life and praising our Heavenly Father, the One who provides those plentiful blessings.
This post is kind of late, as it is already March, but I want to share my word of the year for 2021. I have never chosen a word of the year before but I have seen many others do it. This year, my cousins invited me to choose a word with them and I decided it would be a fun thing to do. I have decided to share my word and what it means to me.
My word of the year for 2021 is blessed. I didn’t put much thought into choosing the word originally but I have spent some time thinking about it. I believe that God wanted to teach me something when I chose the word blessed.
How many people do you think would say they are blessed? I don’t think many people would. We tend to spend a lot more time thinking about the things we want instead of being thankful for the things we have.
As I transition into adulthood, this is becoming very obvious to me. I took everything in my childhood for granted and I never thought about how blessed I was. Looking back, I know I had a lot more in my childhood than many people have. I definitely wasn’t as thankful for everything as I should have been. As I start becoming independent and supporting myself, it is going to be really important that I continue to think of all the blessings in my life. Even when I don’t have everything I want, I need take the time to be thankful for the many blessings.
During 2021, I want to focus on all the blessings in my life. Each day I want to spend more time being thankful for the things I already have. I used to spend a lot of time thinking about my wants but that needs to change. God has been so good to me and I need to remember to thank Him more often. My goal for the year is to remember how blessed I am and thank God for the life He has given me.
